Arlene Schafferman Obituary
Arlene Schafferman Age 63, of Wilmington, DE, died Monday, December 6, 2004 in the Christiana Hospital after been stricken at home. Arlene enjoyed being a homemaker making a home for her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Mrs. Shafferman's family will surely miss her. Arlene is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Kathleen Lafferty; and her beloved husband, Joseph B. Schafferman, Sr.; and her beloved grandson, James Wilkerson, Jr., who passed away November 11, 2004. Survivors include her children, Joseph, Jr. and his wife, Jeanne, Raymond, Daniel, Sr. and his wife, Chris, Lisa Wilkerson and her husband, Jimmy, Mitzi Holdridge and her husband, Dan, Sharon Crum and her husband, Matt, Danny Williams and Shane Williams. Survivors also include 13 grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters; 3 sisters, Kay Pierson, Jan Pennington, and Lee Zimkowski; her beloved niece, Terri Astheimer and a close family friend, Ed Logue. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Service will be 2 pm, Friday, December 10, 2004 in the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where friends may call after 1. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. Contributions can be made in Arlene's memory to the Joseph B. Schafferman, Sr. Scholarship Fund in care of Thomas J. Ventura, Sr., 333 Single Ave., New Castle, DE 19720.
